All's Well That's Banwell

Phil, Andrea and Stigg/Boots wait patiently for Nick to arrive at Chieveley and they wait, and they wait....(Must be strange meeting at Chieveley with Barry being absent...!),  Dan had a phone call, from Nick, saying "i'm running late when are you leaving?"  Dan & Sue were running late too, so Nick rang Stigg / Boots to say "Wait for me"Phil, Andrea and Stigg/Boots waited some more..!  Eventually, Nick arrived and the four of them set off for Banwell.

Fair weather.    Stigg / Boots had forgotten his glasses so Phil took the lead...!  Dan and Sue were an hour behind.
When Keith arrived in Banwell, an hour after Dan & Sue, he quickly rang Barry for directions to the site, little did Keith know that Barry was in fact on holiday in Scotland and not at the site..!!

Friday night, we all had a Chinese take away.  The Chinese take away were overcome by bikers wanting a delivery and soon decided to cancel their delivery service.  Nick volunteered to go off and get the dinner on his bike.  The heavens opened and Nick returned just before he was completely soaked through.  Thank you Nick.

Great night in the bar.  Intro from Blacky and a new member was introduced by Mr B******D.  The new member got off lightly...!  Great band, two guitarists.  One of them turned up on crutches.  At least he didn't leave on crutches, if you know what I mean...!

Back at the tinny bar after the main bar had shut, one of the Scrumpies produced a Diggerydoo.  As it happens Sue is a dab hand and was trying to teach people how to play it.  How we laughed..!  A swaying Nick was helped back to his tent by Stigg / Boots.

Andrea became god mother to a very large pig and a goat, please see Andrea for details.

After a rainy night in the tent, Sue's lid was as wet as a fish bowl.  Sue borrowed Nicks lid on the Saturday as Nick was in no fit state to leave the site...!

Saturday:  We went to Western Super Mare for a Vulture ride out.  Stigg / Boot's bike broke down before ride to WSM, the battery was flat, but wait, he has a spare!!  But that was flat too..!!  We jumped his bike with the help of a kind Scrumpy. The main Scrumpy ride was cancelled due to rain.  The heavens opened, I mean they really opened!!  Dan and Sue had to stop the pack on route and put on wet weather gear..!  Everyone else was prepared.  Sorry Phil..!   Sun eventually came out in the afternoon, great meal overlooking the bay.

Simon was complaining about the fact that there was too much air in his tent...feel free grill him about this for many months to come..!     Sue and Andrea had a farting contest, were not sure who won...!   We were all looking forward to Sat night but alas the band wasn't great.  Had a laugh with Nick's shoes!!  See pics.Nick starred in the limelight for a couple of minutes on Saturday evening.  Blacky called out the top prize of £100 in the raffle and it was won by the Scrumpies treasurer who gallantly put it back in.  As Nick had earlier been initially in some confusion as to how the raffle worked, he was picked out by Blacky and asked to stand up, (Phil immediately shouted out that he already was!) and was then invited to go to the stage front to to re-draw the £100 raffle ticket.  A Scrumpy still won it though!  Do try harder for your own mates next time Nick!!!  Well ok, I guess he did donate his raffle prize of a half bottle of Vodka to our table as he doesn't drink it

Long country lanes took us to The Red Lion a Avebury, great biker pub.  Great sunshine. Great weekend.
