Usually when I'm asked to work in someone’s garden, I do the work, get paid and then spend all my dues on fixing a certain XV 750..!! This time however, a friend and fellow Vulture, John Stevens, accepted a quote from me to turn a part of his daughter’s land (or should I say the Binfield National Park, its huge...!!) into a veg patch in time for the planting season. "Thank you for the quote Dan, we'll go ahead and Sophie will take some shots of your bike for you" said John. We shook hands and I went off to order the required machine for the job. I just prayed the machine was going to be more reliable than my XV!! I don't think the AA cover cultivators!! I turn up at The Binfield National Park (Sophie's Garden) and get to work. It went well. Sophie now has a veg patch that would be big enough to feed an army. During the job, John's other daughter Rachel emerged with John's grandson Benson, and a cup of Tea, many thanks. Incidentally, if I work for anyone else in the future, I don't take sugar and Chocolate Hob Nobs are preferred!! Anyway, the reason for these words is to say thank you to Sophie for fulfilling her word and taking some shots of my bike. I had a vision for an image that I hope to transfer to a painting on my jacket. No way did I expect Sophie to take so many pics and work so hard to finish the images. Having had these shots taken, it has confirmed that I will, one day have a 'nose job' just as soon as I stop paying for my damn XV. I don't like having my picture taken but, it’s great to see my vision come to fruition. Thank you Sophie. I have heard of Sophie Dahl, a gem in front of the camera, you're a Sophie Dahl-ing behind the camera. By the way John, where do your girls get their looks from...??!! |
