Arundel & Amberley Museum May 9th 2004
Despite yet another wet start, this time with that fine misty rain that sticks to everything like glue, Roger, Saz and Davie headed off to Boxhill, where Ian Brr Brr Lips, Paul Mr. Bastard, Al the Fringe and Maurice were waiting…From there its was Bury Hill, Arundel Castle and Amberley Working Museum for a classic bike show…Oh nearly forgot & we saw Dave & Mary there!

On to the Amberley working museum to see old stuff like this leather briefcase rack. |
Buses like these were used as transport long before legs or even feet I was told. |
This was a “Steam Train” it was powered by hot water! Like a big yellow moving tea pot. Amazing! |

Even when there were sea monsters, the initials DK stood for pure class. |
Roger Biggles Bruce. Or freak boy as the Amberley staff now know him. |
There’s always one who has to take it to extremes and it’s normally me… |

All in all a jolly good day out, Amberley Working Museum charge you £7.50 to get in or £6.50 if you are an old person, even less if you have to be helped in by nurses. Paul got in for £2.50. There are free wheelchairs and bicycles to use for illegal races around the grounds and the whole thing is manned by volunteer pensioners who can’t run after you.
We sheltered from the rain & then the beating sun under Al’s Royal Star Fringes which also act like one of those beaded curtains that you use in the summer to keep flies out the kitchen.
Seriously though, well I can’t do seriously today, its Monday, so let’s leave it there.
Thanks to Ian Brr Brr lips who without any planning whatsoever got us there and back with a coffee break in the middle, he bimbled there and we blatted back and 150 odd miles later the day was done!
