The Four Old Codgers and Carl

The four old codgers (being Richard Jacqui Ed and Sue) didn't fancy  the steam fair ride out so decided to do Bird World instead, having overheard this Carl said he would like to join us (foolish boy). Did try to get a few others interested but all were busy doing other things. Sunday morning we leave home to head towards Richard and Jacqui's house in Frimley Green for a 10am meet. On arrival Carl is already there waiting for us.

Set off at a leisurely pace with Richard leading us to Bird World, on route caught up with some vintage bikes one was a Triumph Tiger Cub which happened to be my first bike after my scooter craze. There was an even older bike pre war not sure of the make Richard recognised the rider who was nearly as old as the bike!!!!!

Was a nice quick ride to get there with Jacqui gaining more confidence the more she rides. Amused Carl by having to have coffee as soon as we arrived (must be an age thing!!), missed the penguin feeding whilst feeding ourselves ,and spent a few hours mooching at the many interesting birds they have there.

A lot of the birds were quite exotic in colours but all caged which was a bit of a shame. This is where the Hawk Conservancy scores above Bird World as there birds can fly freely.

Never the less it was still quite a good enjoyable venue.

By about 2.30 we had seen all there was to see so back to feeding time again, we set out to find our own water hole.

We didn't have to travel far to find a nice pub where we all had a traditional Sunday roast. Ed noticed the big TV had ladies beach volleyball on much to his delight.

We had a leisurely long late lunch and then Carl headed for home having probably had enough of the old codgers and we headed back to Richard and Jacqui's for afternoon tea and more chat.

I'm sure a good time was had by all (Carl must be a glutton for punishment because this last Sunday he came to Blackbush Market with us!!!!!!!)
