This month in brief:
And the month ahead:
So that was 2004!
Another 12,000 miles on the bike and as we put the clocks back I thought I’d just briefly review this last year.
I only managed 7 or 8 of Ian’s 18 Landmark’s, mostly because I forgot to take a camera around with me, but I shall still get my entry in to him by Halloween, there are entries from the Rejects, Vultures, Crusader’s & Axeman I believe and great prizes to be had Ian tells me, so get your entry in asap, more details on his newsletter web site.
I’d like to thank Big Rog for giving us all a damn good laugh, he really is the rally party animal of the year 2004. In fact both he and Ian deserve a pat on the back for helping me when the cider really kicked in at the Scrumpies Rally and I needed a little helping hand to function…find my tent, eat, etc etc…
It’s been a year of emotional highs and lows too, with some very hilarious moments to the sorrow we all felt at Paul’s funeral at the end of the Summer.
There are so many new aspects to running the club now the web site, WAP site, merchandise, Pennant flags, Sally our own Vulture the run outs, bike training and safety issues and of course the 2005 Rally to organise.
Please remember it’s your club and if you feel you can do something to help out or even want to take on a committee role please let me know before our centre AGM on the 9th Feb.
As regards our rally, well, it’s all coming together nicely and tickets are now on sale now @ £18 each, I’m sure we’ll see all 67 Vultures there at some point over that weekend (won’t we?) and we need YOUR help to run the rally so please offer yourself for a few hours Friday/Saturday or Sunday morning. If you’d like details of what we have planned feel free to talk to any of the Centre 12 committee. It’ll be hard work but very rewarding so get please involved. To coin a phrase “Ask not what Thames Valley Vultures can do for you, but what you can do for Thames Valley Vultures”!
I hope everyone enjoyed 2004 and the run outs, events and rallies that were offered to you, if you didn’t, well just see my big mate Fff Pete…
