Nutley Village Fete
Hello all,
my name is Fred van den Boom and I am a new member off your club
I am 57 and a caretaker from Bebblebrook school in Aylesbury.
My first outing with you all was wet but very nice thank you.
We meet at Boxhill at 10, only 2 off us until 10,45 then Dave and the others
arrived, off to Nutley
It was wet ,so Dave was going fishing on the field or was this for our flag ?
As you see on the photos Dave is not only a motormouse but also a daredevil
see you the next time.
Fred.

and from Ian:-
Well when Gill asks nicely if you can help at her village Fete, smiles sweetly and offers a BBQ in the evening, you really have no choice but to say yes. The plan was to show several shiny bikes (so not sure why I was invited J) and hopefully attract some new members
Saturday 26th, all loaded up with Gazebo and chair etc and so I head off to Boxhill to meet the others, it starts to rain. Two hardy souls stood in the car park Colonel Sanders and Carl from C12, a message on my phone from a hungry Dave also indicates more bodies on the way.
A little later a damp little group of 6 bikes head off to Nutley, deep down in Pooh Bear country. Hoorah the suns out and Saz and Gill are there to greet us. Bikes positioned its up with the Gazebo, table chairs etc and watch the world go by.
A pleasant afternoon was had with a bar on site. Mmm Harvey’s from the barrel nice, Cream teas (surprisingly the first for the Rejects this year) ice cream, candyfloss, vintage cars and steam engines. Also buying up all of Nutley’s old Jigsaws.
There was also a small group of people jiving, also the children’s (under 12’s only) “Scary slide of Death” which of course a certain Centre Rep (no names but he comes from Berkshire) had to try, thank goodness he was wearing brown trousers.
We had some interest for the club and a few leaflets taken, various other rejects arrived as well, but all looking very dry.
Back to Tony and Gills for the BBQ and a pleasant evening ensued, needless to say that the rain restarted on the way home, YUK.
A big thank you to C12 for helping swell our numbers, and providing shiny bikes, it’s just a shame a few more Rejects weren’t there.
A good day out though.
